Ana Fataccioli

Ana, a former engineer, due to her love for sewing became a Fashion Designer. She has been trained in Italy, South America and Australia.

Ana has a Diploma in Fashion Design with a major in Patternmaking, Grading and Clothing Technology. Also, she is a VETEC accredited trainer, Tailor, Couturier and  participates as a judge in Fashion Competitions in Brisbane.

Her experience crosses more than 30 years, through hobbyist Dressmaker, Fashion student, RAQ finalist, Patternmaker for small businesses, and Manufacturer of her own labels in Italy, Peru and Australia. Ana applied all her knowledge and experience, when she established her own Fashion School in 1997:  The Sewing Workshop ™. Since then, Ana has been teaching absolutely all aspects of Sewing, Fitting and Patternmaking to more than 2000 students.

Ana is the author of her unique Patternmaking method to develop blocks, and she published her DVD "Sewing Zippers", which is stocked in most public libraries in Australia.

Ana is a freelance patternmaker and in the 19 years she has been in Australia, she has helped new and established small businesses by making patterns for them.

Also, Ana has a clothing alterations shop, "Alter to Fit". Her business specializes in designer wear alterations
from Jeans ...... to Bridal.

Ana, also, offers couture services at her shop at Mt Gravatt and at Loganlea by appointment only.

Couture Services Ana offers her personal services in Couture only to a limited number of clients. She has a team of experts in Couture and Tailoring trained by her and working under her supervision. We provide services for: Wedding dresses Mother of the Bride / Groom Formal dresses Ana is always testing new  fitting techniques, new assembly methods, new fabrics, in order to be up to date with the industry & market, and to pass her knowledge to her students.  Ana keeps sharpening her Patternmaking and Fitting skills, and challenges herself to the latest fashion, because she doesn't need commercial patterns for her services . In fact, Ana makes dresses exactly as the magazine, picture or sketch, which is a skill that few dressmakers have. She drafts patterns from scratch, make toiles  to achieve perfect fitting for your body, and personally does the fitting in all sessions. Ana never works in a rush , so allow enough time for your work to be done.       Tailoring Services Patternmaking Services Ana provides Patternmaking Services for Private Customers and Small Businesses. For private customers, Ana makes the pattern to your measurements according to your sketch, photo or idea. Also, she makes a toile (calico garment) to make sure the garment looks like what you expect. Then, when you receive your final pattern, you are sure it will fit perfectly. For small businesses, Ana also starts from your sketch or photo, then she makes a Technical Drawing, and the patterns are developed according to Australian Standard Measurements. Once the client checks the pattern, it can be graded in all necessary sizes, and then sent to the factory for production. Services fees
Each work is quote based on the time involved, so a quote over the phone would be impossible, as Ana needs to discuss with the client all the details of the intended garment.
